Delete Your GotPlans Account
Delete your account in the app
- Open GotPlans and sign in.
- Tap the Profile tab.
- Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
- Confirm both prompts. You'll be signed out and your account will be deleted right away.
Request deletion without the app
If you can't access the app, email info@gotplans.co with the subject "Delete my GotPlans account", sent from the email address on your account. We may ask you to confirm the request before deleting anything, and we'll reply once your account has been deleted.
What gets deleted
- Your profile details: display name, username, bio, city, profile photo, and interests.
- Your date of birth and Terms of Service acceptance record.
- Photos you uploaded, including your profile photo and event cover images.
- Your friendships, friend requests, and blocks.
- Your RSVPs to upcoming events hosted by others (your spot is released).
- Your email address and sign-in access. You won't be able to sign in again, and the email address is released so you can register again later if you want to.
Upcoming events you host are cancelled.
What is kept, and for how long
To keep shared conversations and records understandable for other people, some content stays in anonymized form and shows as "Deleted user". It is no longer linked to your name, username, email, or photo:
- Messages you sent in event chats.
- Past events you hosted or attended.
- Reports you submitted about other users or content.
This anonymized content stays for as long as the conversations and events it belongs to exist. A minimal, de-identified account record is also kept so the deleted account can't be signed into or reused.
Copies of deleted information may remain in our service providers' routine backups for a limited time until those backups are overwritten. We may also keep specific information longer when the law requires it, or when we need it for security, fraud prevention, or resolving disputes, as described in our Privacy Policy.
